About the Role

The Crypto team's mission is to build the next global financial ecosystem using blockchain technology, enabling scalable and accessible onchain financial products. This team plays a central role in advancing Robinhood's focus on crypto and international expansion by developing products that expand access to decentralized finance.

As a Staff Data Scientist, you will lead analytical efforts supporting the launch and growth of Robinhood Mainnet, helping bring onchain financial solutions to a global audience. You'll be at the forefront of shaping Robinhood's crypto strategy using data, partnering closely with product, engineering, finance, and research to launch and optimize features such as perpetuals, international trading, and wallet experiences. Your work will guide product decisions through well-designed experiments and robust analysis, helping millions of customers engage more deeply with the crypto ecosystem.

This role is based in our Menlo Park, CA and New York, NY office(s), with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week. At Robinhood, we believe in the power of in-person work to accelerate progress, spark innovation, and strengthen community.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product managers to identify opportunities within onchain finance, including DeFi, perpetuals, and tokenized equities
• Design and evaluate experiments to inform product decisions, using clear success metrics tied to business outcomes
• Analyze onchain data and build datasets to support smart contract indexing and product insights
• Develop models to assess DeFi protocols, lending mechanisms, and market behavior
• Communicate findings to stakeholders including engineering, finance, and design teams to support product development

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related field
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data analysis and modeling
• Experience designing experiments and interpreting results to guide product decisions
• Domain knowledge in crypto, including onchain data and DeFi ecosystems
• Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical partners

Compensation

In addition to the base pay range listed below, this role is also eligible for bonus opportunities, equity, and benefits.

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands.

Zone 1 (Menlo Park, CA; New York, NY; Bellevue, WA; Washington, DC): $202,000 — $238,000 USD

Zone 2 (Denver, CO; Westlake, TX; Chicago, IL): $178,000 — $209,000 USD

Zone 3 (Lake Mary, FL; Clearwater, FL; Gainesville, FL): $158,000 — $186,000 USD
