Methodology

How We Calculate These Numbers

We collect job postings from across the crypto and web3 data ecosystem and include only those that carry a verified salary range: both a minimum and a maximum figure from the employer's own posting. No scraped estimates are used.

For each posting we compute a midpoint: (salary_min + salary_max) / 2. We group midpoints by role and include only USD-denominated postings (or postings with no currency specified).

Median, P25, P75, min, and max are computed with linear interpolation on the sorted midpoint distribution. Roles with fewer than 10 qualifying postings are excluded to prevent small-sample distortion. Published statistics are refreshed quarterly; new verified postings are folded in at each update.

Figures represent the midpoint of posted pay bands, not negotiated or actual compensation.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Based on verified salary ranges from employers' own postings, the median for a crypto data analyst is around $126k. The P25-P75 band runs from roughly $104k to $151k for USD-denominated roles.
Web3 data engineers and data scientists command a significant premium over analysts. Verified medians sit above $190k, reflecting the scarcity of onchain data infrastructure skills in the market.
Real posted ranges only. Every figure comes from a job posting that includes an explicit salary minimum and maximum. We use the midpoint of the posted range, with no modelling and no imputation.
P25 is the 25th percentile: 25% of postings paid below that figure. P75 is the 75th percentile. The shaded bar shows the typical salary band between P25 and P75.
Published statistics are refreshed quarterly. New verified postings accumulate daily and are folded in at the next quarterly update. The dataset covers all verified salary postings indexed to date, both active and expired, with no rolling time window.
