About the Role
The Operational Analytics team at Robinhood supports the Platform Services organization by enabling it to scale efficiently and effectively. As an Operational Data Analyst, you will identify and track key metrics that drive Robinhood's business lines, with a focus on Fraud, Account Operations, Customer Service, and Vendor Management.
You will use data to develop recommendations for new products and tooling, advise leadership on operational strategy, and partner with cross-functional teams to address operational needs. You will also support department-level decision-making, contribute to workforce planning, and report on the health of Robinhood's middle office operations. This role is critical to building the infrastructure and insights needed to operate and scale the Platform Services organization.
This role is based in our Denver, CO office, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week. At Robinhood, we believe in the power of in-person work to accelerate progress, spark innovation, and strengthen community.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate platform operations and system performance using data analysis and quantitative methods, focusing on reliability, capacity utilization, throughput, and latency trends to identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Define operational metrics and measurement standards, and build dashboards and reporting (e.g., SQL, Python, Superset) that enable teams to monitor performance and make data-driven decisions.
- Break down complex systems and processes to identify performance drivers, constraints, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
- Investigate incidents and recurring issues by analyzing trends, outliers, and contributing factors, and document findings and follow-ups.
- Aggregate and analyze data to support incident response, regulatory inquiries, and other business-critical requests ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Develop simulation and "what-if" analyses to evaluate the expected impact of proposed system or process changes before implementation.
- Partner with Engineering, Data, Product, and Operations to build the data and tooling needed to track key metrics and improve scalability and reliability.
- Ensure operational data requirements are defined and implemented for new product launches, process changes, and initiatives.
- Communicate findings via concise write-ups and presentations that compare options and recommend data-backed actions to stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Support workforce planning by building forecasts tied to growth projections, new processes, and product launches, in partnership with Operations leadership.
Requirements
- Passion for Robinhood's products and our mission to democratize finance for all.
- Ability to learn quickly, think critically, and apply strong problem-solving skills to improve processes and resolve issues.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Looker.
- 2–5 years of professional experience in a data analysis role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

Compensation
In addition to the base pay range listed below, this role is also eligible for bonus opportunities, equity, and benefits.
Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected base pay range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones.
Zone 1 (Menlo Park, CA; New York, NY; Bellevue, WA; Washington, DC): $136,000–$160,000 USD
Zone 2 (Denver, CO; Westlake, TX; Chicago, IL): $120,000–$141,000 USD
Zone 3 (Lake Mary, FL; Clearwater, FL; Gainesville, FL): $106,000–$125,000 USD
