SQD (Subsquid)

Permissionless access to petabytes of Web3 data

Best for: Developers who need permissionless, decentralized blockchain data access, especially those working across EVM and Substrate ecosystems.
Overview

SQD (formerly Subsquid) is a decentralized data infrastructure platform built around a permissionless data lake for blockchain data. The platform provides indexed blockchain data at scale, supporting 200+ networks through its decentralized network of data providers. SQD was recently acquired by Rezolve AI as part of a strategy to build data and payments infrastructure for the AI economy.

The core architecture is a decentralized data lake that stores and indexes blockchain data, combined with a query engine that makes it searchable. This is fundamentally different from centralized indexing services: the data is distributed across a network of nodes, and access is permissionless. The SQD token powers the network economics.

For developers, SQD offers a TypeScript-based SDK for building custom indexers (called "squids") that run on the network. The platform supports both EVM and Substrate-based chains, making it one of the few indexing solutions with native Polkadot ecosystem support.

Pricing

- Free tier available for development and testing.

- Production usage priced based on data consumption through the network.

- SQD token used for network participation and data access.

- Contact for enterprise pricing and dedicated support.

Chains Supported

200+ networks including Ethereum, Solana, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, Avalanche, BNB Chain, and extensive Substrate/Polkadot ecosystem support (Moonbeam, Astar, Acala, etc.).

Use Cases
  • Decentralized indexing: build custom indexers without relying on centralized providers
  • Cross-chain data: access data across 200+ networks through a unified interface
  • Substrate analytics: index Polkadot ecosystem data (one of few solutions with native support)
  • Historical data: query petabytes of historical blockchain data at scale
  • AI data pipelines: feed blockchain data into AI systems and models
