The Role

We are seeking a DeFi Research & Strategy Specialist to turn protocol research, on-chain data, and market developments into practical recommendations for ICDeFi's ecosystem. You will evaluate decentralized finance models, investigate incentive structures, and assess opportunities alongside their underlying risks. Working with ecosystem stakeholders, you will produce research that supports strategic planning, product discussions, and community education. This remote role based in Taiwan suits someone who combines hands-on DeFi experience with independent judgment and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Research decentralized exchanges, lending platforms, staking mechanisms, stablecoins, and emerging DeFi protocols, including projects on BNB Smart Chain.
• Evaluate token economics, governance, reward mechanisms, liquidity, adoption, and the sustainability of protocol incentives.
• Analyze on-chain activity and market data to identify meaningful trends and distinguish organic usage from incentive-driven activity.
• Assess smart contract, liquidity, oracle, liquidation, and governance risks when reviewing protocols and potential ecosystem opportunities.
• Prepare research briefs, comparative analyses, dashboards, and strategy recommendations with clearly documented assumptions.
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to translate findings into product ideas, ecosystem initiatives, and accessible educational materials.
• Monitor protocol changes and review previous research to improve analytical methods and keep recommendations current.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of relevant experience in DeFi research, crypto analytics, financial research, strategy, or Web3 projects; substantial independent research and personal projects will also be considered.
• Strong understanding of decentralized exchanges, liquidity pools, collateralized lending, staking, token incentives, and DeFi risk.
• Hands-on familiarity with self-custody wallets and decentralized applications; personal crypto investing experience is welcome.
• Experience using DefiLlama, Dune, blockchain explorers such as BscScan, and Excel or Google Sheets; SQL or Python skills are advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to validate sources, challenge assumptions, and communicate uncertainty.
• Clear written and verbal English, strong organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate remotely; Mandarin proficiency is advantageous for research involving Chinese-language sources.
• A degree in finance, economics, computer science, mathematics, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience demonstrated through research samples or project work.

Compensation

TWD 1,800,000 - TWD 2,100,000 per year in gross base salary, depending on experience and qualifications.
