Job Description

About Us

At Cboe Global Markets, we inspire our people to solve complex challenges together because what we do matters. We provide the financial infrastructure that powers the global economy. As a leading provider of market infrastructure and tradable products, Cboe delivers cutting-edge trading, clearing and investment solutions to market participants around the world.

We're building meaningful ways to support professional and personal development while strengthening the trust we've earned as a global market leader. Our teams are empowered to share ideas, actively pursue them and bring on a challenge. As champions of internal mobility and access to opportunity, we encourage our people to "go for it" and equip our managers with the training to coach their teams to the next level. We strive to provide employees a safe space to network, share ideas and create opportunities.

To support strong partnership and team connection, this role follows a four day in office work model.

The Role

Cboe is seeking a highly motivated and independent critical thinker that will directly work on Cboe's emerging prediction market offering, Cboe Predicts. Cboe Predicts provides retail and institutional customers the ability to trade binary contracts that allow for risk transference based on realized events. The Analyst will conduct competitive analysis, build internal automation and tooling, and explore potential new prediction market offerings. The prediction market space is growing rapidly, with the analyst expected to provide strategic insights regarding major developments in the space. This role combines aspects of traditional capital market research with the opportunity for innovation in a rapidly growing space.

This is a hands-on generalist seat with visible output. Expect to write analysis in the morning and code a Python script in the afternoon, and be comfortable integrating AI assisted workflows into daily routines. The analyst should be comfortable presenting and defending their ideas, comfortable with statistical analysis, financial theory, and objectively analyzing world events with their respective impacts at a macro and micro level. Experience in capital markets, derivatives, programming, writing research reports or academic papers is a plus.

Responsibilities

Customer Expansion Analysis

  • Analyze retail participation, flow characteristics, and adoption trends across Cboe proprietary products — index options, mini and nano contracts, short-dated expiries — and translate patterns into product and go-to-market implications.
  • Build and maintain recurring dashboards and reporting on retail behavior for internal business owners, replacing manual data pulls with automated pipelines.
  • Quantify the impact of retail-facing initiatives — education, market protections, contract design changes, listing decisions — in dollar or participation terms suitable for advisory group and executive materials.
  • Assist in tracking competitor product changes and fee filings; ensure internal stakeholders are informed on a timely basis.
  • Monitor trends occurring across institutional clients, determining ways of measuring of their participation into event contracts to support Cboe Predicts Growth.

Alternative Investments Research

  • Provide market sizing for new thematic product opportunities, identifying new areas of growth that complement tradable asset classes in Cboe's eco-system, including but not limited to event contracts, options, futures, equities, and cryptocurrencies.
  • Create reports around competitors and their activities related to institutional and retail customer strategy and product use-cases.
  • Research alternative asset classes and adjacent product structures — digital assets, commodities, credit, event and prediction markets, private-market access vehicles, defined-outcome and derivative-income products — and assess where a listed, cleared, or exchange-adjacent offering is viable via event contracts or binary options wrappers.
  • Produce competitive assessments of specific products and venues covering contract design, margin and capital treatment, distribution model, and regulatory posture, each ending in a clear recommendation.
  • Monitor the regulatory and policy environment shaping retail access to alternatives; flag developments that open or close a path.

Automation and Tooling

  • Build and maintain automations that eliminate recurring manual work for the team.
  • Develop reusable internal tools — document and presentation generation, competitive monitoring, alerting — with a bias toward what other teams can adopt rather than one-off scripts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; MA, MS, or MBA in finance, economics, business, data science, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 1–3 years of experience, including internship experience in capital markets, exchanges, asset management, market structure, or financial technology.
  • AI workflow engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of capital markets, securities valuation, and financial institutions.
  • Advanced Excel/Data Analysis: pivot tables, structured data models, dashboarding.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to take a loosely scoped project to a concrete deliverable across multiple stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with U.S. options and equities market structure: exchange rule filings, fee schedules, and the SEC/CFTC/FINRA landscape.
  • Understanding of the retail brokerage ecosystem: routing, order handling, PFOF, self-directed platform economics.
  • Experience with low-code automation (n8n, Power Automate) and API integration.
  • Experience with programmatic document generation (python-pptx, openpyxl) and cloud data warehouses (Snowflake).
  • Interest in derivatives product design and retail investor behavior.
