Job Description

About Siqure

Siqure is a technology-driven asset management firm operating at the intersection of traditional finance, structured products, digital assets, and institutional DeFi. We are building the platform infrastructure required to support product entry, capital intake, treasury, wallet, and custody workflows, DeFi strategy execution, portfolio monitoring, risk intelligence, reconciliation, and institutional reporting.

The Role

The DeFi Data / Protocol Integration Engineer will own the integration and data layer that allows Siqure to understand, monitor, reconcile, and report on DeFi positions across approved protocols, wallets, custody providers, risk providers, and blockchain data sources.

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who can combine strong backend delivery with DeFi protocol understanding, data modelling, operational judgement, and critical thinking.

What This Role Is

  • A DeFi protocol integration and data infrastructure role.
  • A backend/platform engineering role with strong ownership expectations.
  • A role for someone who can question assumptions, identify data gaps, challenge provider outputs, and design reliable systems rather than only implement tickets.
  • A role that connects DeFi activity to institutional-grade records, reports, risk signals, and reconciliation workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and build integrations with DeFi protocols, portfolio aggregators, custody providers, risk providers, blockchain data sources, and future settlement-related systems.
  • Design canonical data models for protocol positions, wallet balances, protocol exposures, yield metrics, transaction flows, liquidity conditions, and risk signals.
  • Integrate and normalize data from DeBank, Morpho, Pendle, Fordefi, Hypernative, direct chain reads, protocol APIs, indexers, and future provider sources.
  • Build reliable real-time and scheduled data pipelines for portfolio positions, APR/APY and yield tracking, liquidity monitoring, transaction classification, protocol health, and risk metrics.
  • Own reconciliation logic comparing Siqure internal records against custody provider data, protocol data, aggregator data, direct on-chain state, and reporting outputs.
  • Support DeFi execution workflows by preparing protocol interaction context, transaction payload data, pre-trade checks, withdrawal/claim flows, and post-trade confirmation records.
  • Work with quant, portfolio, treasury, risk, operations, and engineering teams to operationalize approved DeFi strategies safely.
  • Evaluate new DeFi protocols and networks from an integration, data quality, risk, liquidity, operational readiness, and reporting perspective.
  • Create monitoring and alerting for protocol health, wallet movement, data freshness, reconciliation mismatches, exposure changes, and position anomalies.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation for protocol integrations, data contracts, provider mappings, reconciliation rules, assumptions, failure modes, and recovery procedures.
  • Demonstrate strong engineering ownership by identifying unclear requirements, surfacing risks early, proposing practical designs, and following issues through to production readiness.

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in financial systems, data infrastructure, Web3, DeFi, digital asset platforms, or backend platform engineering.
  • Strong C#/.NET backend engineering experience, or strong Rust, Go, or Python experience with willingness and ability to work in a C#/.NET platform environment.
  • Hands-on experience integrating with DeFi protocols, blockchain data sources, wallet data, portfolio aggregators, custody providers, risk providers, or similar financial data systems.
  • Practical experience with EVM data such as transaction hashes, logs/events, token balances, contract reads, RPC providers, indexers, subgraphs, and web3 libraries such as ethers.js, viem, web3.py, Nethereum, or similar.
  • Understanding of DeFi primitives such as lending protocols, AMMs, yield protocols, liquid staking, vaults, collateral, liquidity pools, derivatives, and structured yield products.
  • Ability to interpret APR, APY, implied yield, realized yield, utilization, liquidity, maturity, exposure, position state, and protocol-specific metrics.
  • Experience building reliable workers, APIs, data pipelines, integration services, reconciliation jobs, monitoring dashboards, and alerting systems.
  • Strong understanding of data quality, idempotency, retries, provider failure handling, source-of-truth rules, auditability, and operational resilience.
  • Strong ownership mindset: able to reason from first principles, challenge incomplete requirements, communicate trade-offs, and make sound engineering decisions under uncertainty.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, portfolio managers, quant researchers, risk teams, treasury, operations, and leadership.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with Morpho, Pendle, Aave, Compound, Curve, Uniswap, GMX, Lido, EigenLayer, or similar protocols.
  • Experience working with DeBank, Fordefi, Hypernative, Fireblocks, Safe, The Graph, Dune, Goldsky, Alchemy, Infura, Tenderly, or similar providers.
  • Experience designing portfolio, position, valuation, exposure, treasury, wallet, or reconciliation models for digital assets.
  • Experience with event-driven architecture, background workers, ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Docker, or Kubernetes.
  • Experience in institutional asset management, fintech, treasury, custody, regulated financial environments, or compliance-heavy systems.
  • Ability to read Solidity contracts and understand contract interactions, emitted events, approvals, allowances, and security implications. Full-time smart contract development is helpful but not required.
  • Familiarity with protocol risk, oracle risk, bridge risk, liquidity risk, liquidation mechanics, MEV, gas economics, and chain-specific operational risks.

Engineering Qualities We Value

Ownership: You do not stop at implementation. You understand the business impact, data consequence, operational risk, and reporting implications.

Critical thinking: You challenge unclear assumptions, investigate mismatches, and avoid blindly trusting provider data.

Systems thinking: You design for workflows, failure modes, reconciliation, auditability, and long-term extensibility.

Pragmatism: You can ship useful MVP slices without locking the platform into short-term provider assumptions.

Communication: You can explain DeFi mechanics, data assumptions, and risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What This Role Is Not

  • This is not primarily a Solidity smart contract authoring role.
  • This is not a pure quant research role.
  • This is not a dashboard-only data role.
  • This is not a protocol-building role where the main responsibility is creating new DeFi primitives.
  • This is a hands-on DeFi protocol integration, data infrastructure, reconciliation, risk signal, and institutional reporting role.

Success in the First 90 Days

First 30 days: Understand Siqure's Product Entry, Capital Intake, Treasury, Wallet/Custody, Strategy, Portfolio, Risk, and Reporting model. Map current provider and protocol data responsibilities.

First 60 days: Deliver or materially contribute to canonical DeFi position, wallet, yield, and provider data models, including ingestion and reconciliation approach for priority providers.

First 90 days: Implement or materially contribute to a working vertical slice that ingests protocol/provider data, reconciles it against internal records, and supports portfolio, risk, and reporting outputs.
