Job Description

About the Company

The company is a Web3 startup that aims to create a fan economy with the mission of "advancing the times together with fans". They develop and provide a fan platform for the Web3 era that maximizes fan enthusiasm for major entertainment companies such as publishers, music labels, and game companies. The company raised 3.4 billion yen in Series B funding in 2022 and is actively recruiting.

The company uses the concept of a "Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO)" as a guideline for organizational management. Regardless of age, role, or position, members proactively make proposals and decisions.

The company aims to realize new entertainment experiences at the production level by utilizing generative AI technologies, such as Generative Agents and Entertainment IP's unique image generation.

The team uses Agile methodologies and Kanban to manage development autonomously by teams of engineers, enabling flexible responses to areas of high uncertainty.

The Role

The company has entered a phase focused on evolving the "quality of decision-making" to drive product growth. It is shifting from a structure centered on new feature development to one that aims to "strengthen growth capabilities" through impact verification, optimization, and marketing measures, as well as making the product "AI-Ready."

Central to this strategy is the Data Scientist role, which can leverage the diverse data—such as behavioral and preference data—obtained from the proprietary product to support decision-making and drive problem-solving. This position is expected to analyze vast amounts of data and connect the findings to improving the fan experience and creating new value.

As the data team is still in its initial phase (newly established), the company is seeking members who will jointly build the foundation of the organization from the ground up.

Data Team Initiatives

The Data Team is engaged in the following efforts:

  • Realizing a fact-driven decision-making organization through impact verification based on A/B testing and causal inference.
  • Optimizing the user experience through recommendation and matching algorithms.
  • Implementing advanced external traffic and marketing measures by optimizing allocation and creative content.
  • Applying AI to product growth, such as notification design and the automation of operational tasks.

The team drives the evolution of the "quality of decision-making" company-wide, collaborating with various functions such as Product Managers (PdMs), Engineers, Community Managers, and Marketers. Furthermore, it proactively promotes the development of machine learning infrastructure to create user experiences, including implementing recommendation systems, network analysis, and utilizing generative AI.

Responsibilities

  • Development and execution of impact verification (e.g., A/B tests, causal inference).
  • Development and improvement of machine learning infrastructure for recommendations, matching, etc.
  • Analysis, operational improvement, and optimization of marketing and advertising measures.
  • Defining challenges, conducting analysis, and proposing solutions in collaboration with Product Managers (PdM) and Business (Biz) teams.

Position Highlights

  • Ability to co-create the foundation and operational design within a team that is still in its early stages of formation.
  • Opportunity to lead decision-making and initiatives at the core of the company's "AI x Growth Strategy."
  • A supportive environment where candidates can grow their missing skills alongside the team, using their current area of expertise as a foundation.
  • An environment rich with growth opportunities that cut across expertise, implementation skills, and business understanding.

  • Required: Python
  • Preferred: Go, TypeScript

Cloud:

  • Ability to research papers in the data science field and reproduce implementations
  • Business Level Japanese Required (N2 Level)

You will proceed by leveraging your own strengths while cooperating with existing team members. Therefore, even if you have experience with some areas, please feel free to apply.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Development and operational experience in recommendation and matching systems
  • Practical experience in marketing domains such as MMM and ad delivery

Ideal Applicants
