Risk & Fraud Detection Analyst - Mandarin (HK Digital Asset & Crypto)

About the Role

This role focuses on protecting the company's financial ecosystem by monitoring, detecting, and mitigating payment fraud and financial crimes across crypto, Web3, and virtual card issuance platforms. The position requires designing end-to-end risk control strategies, analyzing large datasets for suspicious activity, and collaborating with cross-functional teams and card networks.

Responsibilities

• Risk Analysis & Pattern Detection: Analyze transaction and user behavior data to identify patterns in card deposit/withdrawal flows, including CNP (Card-Not-Present) fraud, cash-out abuse, and malicious chargebacks.
• Strategy Development: Design, deploy, and refine risk control strategies—such as blacklists/whitelists, rule engines, and risk scoring—for application, transaction, and account-level monitoring.
• Case Investigation: Conduct in-depth investigations into suspicious transactions and organized fraud rings, translating insights into actionable playbooks.
• Metrics Monitoring: Track key performance indicators including strategy hit rates, false-positive rates, and fraud loss rates to continuously optimize rules.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, engineering, compliance, customer support, external banks, and card networks to resolve risk incidents.

Requirements

• 2+ years of relevant risk control experience within Crypto/Web3 platforms, cross-border payments, or payment anti-fraud systems.
• Strong understanding of payment flows (3DS, chargebacks, CNP fraud) and virtual/prepaid card issuance (anti-fraud, AML detection).
• Proficiency in SQL for independent data extraction.
• Fluent in both spoken and written Mandarin and English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Python or BI tools (Tableau, Metabase).
• Experience with machine learning risk models.
• Knowledge of card network programs (Visa VAMP, Mastercard Excessive Chargeback Program).
• Familiarity with global regulatory frameworks (MSB, MiCA, VASP).
