The Role
You will form part of the Onboarding Operations team based in Cape Town and Kuala Lumpur, reporting to the Head of Onboarding Strategy and Customer Due Diligence Operations. Your role as a Business Optimisation Analyst (Data) will be to use your knowledge of data analysis and data processing to inform key business decisions in the Onboarding Operations team and other business areas. You will work in a fast paced environment, collaborating with other business units, including Engineering, Product, Compliance and Data teams, servicing the business on an international level together with the teams from South East Asia, Africa and Europe. You will be responsible for creating dashboards, extracting data, writing reports, and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to determine business initiatives' success.
Responsibilities
- Interpret trends and patterns in data and present findings and actionable insights to senior leaders of the business
- Collaborate with data engineers to design and build any pipelines/data models needed to support analytical and reporting needs
- Structure large data sets to find usable information
- Design metrics to help assess how the onboarding teams and broader business are performing on a day-to-day basis
- Report regularly on business and team performance
- Work closely with the relevant business stakeholders to understand their data needs
- Collaborate with teams to determine, collect and analyse required data to address business needs while ensuring it is of the highest quality, reliable and trusted
- Build visually compelling dashboards that communicate insights to stakeholders (often non-technical) to allow data-informed decision making
- Use data-driven analysis to identify opportunities for improvement and automation in onboarding operations processes
- Review delivery of providers against Service Level Agreements and support negotiations from a data perspective
Requirements
- A qualification in Data Analysis or similar quantitative fields
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in the data or business optimisation space
- Intermediate skills in SQL, Python and experience working with data pipelines
- Experience working with business intelligence platforms such as Looker, Tableau, DataBricks, PowerBI or similar
- Familiar with data governance principles and best practices
- Passionate about data analytics and related disciplines
- Friendly, transparent, articulate and driven to succeed
- Ability to lead change through entrepreneurial thinking, a strong sense of responsibility and a very high level of integrity
- Adaptable, capable and intellectually curious and have the persistence to find answers to difficult questions in fast-paced environments
- Ability to formulate business cases, document investigation work, and contribute to technical design documents
- Ability to take ownership of own work and successfully deliver high quality projects with obscure and incomplete requirements
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to explain data concepts to non-experts in a clear, structured manner
- Experience working with cross-functional teams using data to influence strategy, roadmaps and drive data-informed decisions
- Internet access at home and the ability to work remotely (Luno will provide successful candidates with suitable equipment to set them up for success)
