The Role

We are seeking a Data Engineer to build and operate data infrastructure for our trading platform. You will design data pipelines, build data warehouses, and ensure data is ready for fraud detection systems, AML/KYT, risk scoring, and business intelligence.

This is an opportunity to work with large-scale financial transaction data, real-time streaming, and exciting data engineering challenges in the crypto/fintech industry.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Data Platform architecture (Data Lake/Data Warehouse) specialized for trading platforms, supporting both Analytics and Machine Learning purposes in parallel.
• Build flexible Data Pipeline systems (ETL/ELT) with optimal processing for both Batch and Real-time data from multiple sources: Trading System, Blockchain, and External APIs.
• Develop Streaming Pipelines with Apache Kafka, designing Event-driven architecture to process real-time transactions and support fraud detection systems.
• Design diverse Schema and Data Models, ensuring normalized data structures for complex business problems.
• Operate and optimize Big Data infrastructure (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka), performing monitoring, alerting, and regular system performance tuning.
• Ensure Data Governance standards, maintain data quality, and enable traceability throughout the system.
• Build Feature Stores and Data APIs to provide clean, normalized data for Data Scientists, ML Engineers, and internal Dashboards.
• Implement security strategies and compliance, including Data Archiving, Backup, and Audit Trails to meet strict financial industry storage regulations.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer; experience handling large-scale data systems (TB+ scale) and proficiency with Agile processes.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL (query optimization); preference for proficiency in Java or Scala and data flow orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster).
• Practical experience with diverse database types such as PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, BigQuery, and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis).
• Understanding of AWS/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes; preference for candidates with Terraform or dbt thinking.
• Strong troubleshooting skills; English proficiency for reading technical documentation.

Nice to Have

• Experience in Fintech, Blockchain, or building fraud detection systems.
• Understanding of modern data architecture (Data Mesh, Lakehouse) or on-chain data processing.
• Deep knowledge of data security and Real-time Analytics optimization (Flink).
